Yaw Preko has resigned from his post as Hearts of Oak interim coach, citing personal reason, the club have confirmed.
Yaw Preko, who was assistant coach of the club took over from Sergio Traguil when he was demoted to the club’s youth side after a poor run of results and with three games to end the last season, guided the club to a third place finish.
The former Black Stars winger, seemed to have ended the speculation surrounding a substantive coach after receiving support from some section of supporters who were calling for his confirmation.
However, there seems to be a u-turn as close source revealed to Sports5050 about the intention of the club to bring in a new coach. Various reports have also linked other coaches to the Hearts of Oak coaching job.
Although there are all these developments, Yaw Preko handed in his resignation on Friday giving personal reasons for his decision.
Yaw Preko was appointed as an assistant coach to former Japanese trainer Kenichi Yatsuhashi, who parted company with the club for disagreement over the coach’s request for a short leave to pursue a coaching coarse.
