Roy Keane has never been one to shy away from a fight – on or off the field – so it will be interesting to see how he reacts to WWE star Wade Barrett threatening to “batter” the Irishman.
The former Manchester United captain slammed the performance of current skipper Wayne Rooney in Wednesday’s Champions League draw with PSV, hammering the England international for his long running and very public feud with wrestling bad boy Barrett.
“I always question certain players what are they doing off the field,” Keane told ITV. “Last week I saw him slapping a wrestler and I’m thinking: ‘Why is he getting involved in all that nonsense?’ There’s no benefit to him. I’d have a look at that side of it.
“It’s certainly not helping him. I wouldn’t begrudge him going out and enjoying himself, but if you’re not at it yourself you’ve got to have a look and lead by example. He didn’t do that tonight. He doesn’t look sharp, he looks awful.”
Barrett has now hit back, revealing that he is more than happy to take Keane on in what would be a triple threat match for the ages!
If Roy Keane’s looking for a piece, I’ll batter him too. https://t.co/aMppceCKnU

Keane has always had an issue with being accused of faking injury, so it is perhaps unlikely that the Republic of Ireland assistant coach would want anything to do with a man who makes a living out of pretending to be hurt.
On the other hand, Keane always said that he would never become a television pundit, so who knows what will happen next? This story could be far, FAR from over!
