Asante Kotoko were not willing to resign Nathaniel Asamoah following his return from Raja Casablanca in Morocco, according to sources.
The player was offered to the Kumasi-based side upon his return from North Africa as a free agent, but head coach David Duncan turned down the opportunity.
Asamoah had a wonderful season last year with Medeama, and was leading the top scorer table before his move to Casablanca, which eventually fell through.
According to sportscrusader.com, Duncan refused to open talks with the player’s representative because he was not part of his plans.
Kotoko are currently eleven on the log with five points from five games, and will face Aduana Stars in away fixture on Sunday.
