New Zesco United forward Jesse Were has revealed why he opted to sign for the Zambian champions instead of Egyptian outfit Ittihad.
The SportPesa Premier League 2015 top scorer with 22 goals, has been under the radar of several clubs but the Zambian outfit won the battle after he penned a two year deal.
However, less know the reason behind a dramatic change of mind by the lanky striker. “Zesco United came and were serious with the deal, worked faster and I changed my mind.
“Ittihad was serious yes, but they took too long to conclude the deal, and I did not want that scenario of ‘I wish I knew’ after the transfer season. I hope to have a good season with Zesco United and continue hitting the back of the net more often,” Were told Goal.
The former Tusker forward, who was signed from Mathare United, is also a regular with Harambee Stars.
