Abdul Majeed Waris will have to wait until next season to leave Turkish club Trabzonspor as he has already represented two teams this season.
Currently nursing an injury, the diminutive striker has struggled to settle down quickly at the Turkish club since signing in September 2014.
Recent reports in the Turkish media have gone on to claim that the ex-Swedish league top scorer has been placed on the unwanted list for the January transfer window.
But it has emerged that the Ghana international will not be eligible for any transfer activity this window as he has already featured for two clubs this term – for Spartak Moscow before switching to Trabzonspor.
Meanwhile, Trabzonspor club president Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu is out with fresh claims that multiple English clubs and French side LOSC Lille have made contact for the 23-year-old who was recently reported to be monitored by Manchester United.
”Lille and a few English clubs are interested in signing Waris,” president Haciosmanoglu said, hinting of a possible summer move.
”Lille were also interested in Waris before we signed him. However, a player cannot play for three different clubs in one season so he will have to wait until the end of the season.
”We know Manchester United are monitoring him too.”
English side Stoke City have reportedly lined up a proposal of £4 million plus an extra £2 million in future clauses for Waris who is said to be interested in switching to the BPL.
