UEFA has announced the appointment of Theodore Theodoridis as its general secretary on an interim basis.
Theodoridis takes over temporarily from Gianni Infantino, who was elected as the new FIFA president last Friday.
Infantino, who had been at UEFA for 15 years in total, held the general secretary role for the administrative body for the last seven years.
Theodoridis was widely expected to land the acting general secretary role after Infantino’s departure.
Spokesman Pedro Pinto also revealed on Friday that goal-line technology will be used in this season’s Champions League and Europa League finals.
And it was also confirmed that no presidential elections will take place until the Court of Arbitration for Sport comes to a decision on Michel Platini’s six-year ban from all football-related activity.
