Truce in Mombasa ahead of Sub Branch elections

The controversy over the list of clubs to vote during forthcoming Mombasa sub branch elections was resolved on Saturday during a hearing of complains held at FKF Electoral Board.

In a landmark truce signed by warring camps it was resolved that 58 clubs are legible to vote during the sub branch elections. A copy of the agreement availed by the South Coast Branch Secretary Evans Mwachia read, “We the under mentioned have met today (Saturday) at Zetech University and before the Electoral Board agreed as follows:

“That 58 clubs from Mombasa sub branch hereby attached are legible to participate in the forthcoming sub branch elections’’

Besides Mwachia, the agreement was signed by his challenger Madam Lilian Nandudu, Mombasa Sub branch chairmanship aspirant Goshi Juma Alliy, Sub branch secretary aspirant Rashid M. Mwangombe and National vice Presidential aspirant Twaha Mbarak, who was present as an observer.

Mombasa sub branch is among the 19 sub branches countrywide where the elections will be repeated after they failed to take place on the initial date of December 4. The elections aborted due to controversy over the list of clubs legible to voter.

The elections will now take place on Tuesday at Mombasa stadium. Three camps are engaged in a bare knuckled race namely one led by Goshi Juma Alliy, the second led by Harubu Yusuf and third one led by Mohammed Omar (no relationship with Coast Nec Member).
