The treatment by Manchester City of Manuel Pellegrini has been launched to the forefront of Pep Guardiola’s row with Yaya Toure as the player’s agent defended the Chilean coach.
After leaving out the Ivorian from the Citizens’ Champions League squad, Guardiola has been subject to numerous complaints from Dmitri Seluk, prompting demands for an apology.
“I will apologise to Guardiola if he will apologise to Pellegrini for what he did to him. If you are a gentleman this just does not happen,” said the agent on Sky Sports News.
“He signed a new contract last year then he gets pushed out for Guardiola to come in. Pellegrini was a gentleman.
Although Seluk has been forward in his criticism of the Catalan tactician, any potential apology remains absent as he took the moment to place his sympathy for another City outcast.
“Guardiola also needs to apologise to Joe Hart. It’s not right to come to England and then get rid of a few English players,” added Toure’s representative. “Guardiola wants a new future for Toure, for Hart, and they won’t be the last.”
“What do I need to apologise for?”
