English club Tottenham Hotspurs are in talks to sign Ghana forward Andre Ayew in the summer according to reports in France.
The 25-year-old has refused to extend his contract with Olympique Marseille which expires in the summer over his wage demands.
Marseille are unwilling to flout their instituted wage cap to keep hold of their influential forward.
The French Ligue 1 table toppers thus risk losing the Ghana international for free when his contract runs out in June.
Tottenham Hotspurs are in talks with Ayew’s agent over a move this summer according to Le10 Sport.
The English club are prepared to meet the wage demands of the Ghana international and could even sign him in this transfer window for a small fee.
Ayew will next month be eligible to enter into a pre-contract agreement with any club as stated in the Bosman ruling on player transfers.
The talented forward is currently with the Ghana national team in Spain preparing for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Andre, the son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has been with Marseille throughout his professional career.
He however had loan stints during his formative years with Lorient and Arles Avignon.
