Tom Strand: Ghana is endowed with talented footballers

Medeama manager Tom Strand describes Ghana as a hub of exceptional players, who only need few polishing to shine on the international scene.

The 33-year-old arrived in the country in 2011 as a youth team coach of Golden Boot Academy before joining Bechem United in 2014 and subsequently Medeama a year after.

“There are so many young talented players based here in Ghana,” Strand toldSportscrusader.

“They are like rough diamonds and all they need is processing or polishing to become pure diamonds. A few works on them will see the best out of them and can make it on international stages,” he added.

Strand, who won Ghana FA Cup and Super Cup last season, has been linked with a move to Asante Kotoko to replace beleaguered coach David Duncan, whose side is experiencing a terrible start to the new season.

Sports5050 understands that Strand, who went missing a few days ago, has reported to Medeama camp and will lead the team against his former club Bechem United during the weekend.
