Togbe Afede XIV, the Executive chairman of Hearts of Oak has come under severe criticisms over the poor form of the club under his watch, with some calling for his resignation.
And the board chairman who is the majority shareholder of the club has stated that he is ready to relinquish his shares if fans of the club are ready to buy.
“I am not here because I get any personal gains from the club, it is just a huge burden with board members going through a lot, sacrificing for the club and not deriving any personal gains. We don’t deserve the insults that are hurled at us on daily basis by fans and detractors.
“To all people who are saying Togbe should go, I am urging you to come and buy the shares. If you love Hearts of Oak genuinely come and buy Togbe’s shares and I would be happy to bow out.
“Shares were floated and I bought majority of it, that put me in the position I am in now as the Board Chairman,” he said at the club’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday.
