Asante Kotoko player Rahim Ayew has admitted that he thought he was going to lose his life following the armed robbery attack he suffered at his residence in East Legon on Wednesday morning.
The first son of the Maestro, Abedi Pele, was attacked by armed robbers last Wednesday morning and even sustained gunshot wounds on his arm.
And this according to the players was a real scare, one he believes no one has to endure.
“It was very frightening what happened on Wednesday morning and for once I thought I was going to die”, Rahim admitted. .
“It was crazy and it happened so fast I thought I was watching a movie. But it was when I heard the gunshots aimed at me that I knew it was very real and I was actually being robbed.”
“But I thank God that I did not lose my life and I am very much okay. The Police have been helpful and investigations are still ongoing.”
Rahim was hopeful that he would recover in time to rejoin his coalleagues in the Kotoko team as they prepare for the next football season as well as the CAF Champions League.
Rahim’s residence was one of four in the neighborhood that was robbed during a well coordinated operation.
