There are no automatic places in Black Stars – Stephen Adams

Black Stars goalkeeper Stephen Adams has revealed that there are no automatic places in the National team contrary to what many people think.
The Aduana Stars shot-stopper says the arrival of Avram Grant as new Black Stars coach means every player must fight for a place in the team.
For the goakeeping department, Adams says there should be some stability in the forseable future with the arrival of Avram Grant.
The goalkeeping department of the Black Stars has been a major source of worry for Ghanaians because of the instability and the many faces that have been called up to keep the post for the national team.
For a country like Ghana, it is interesting to note that three different goalkeepers were used for the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers- Stephen Adams, Fatua Dauda and Ernest Sowah have at different times been considered as the best candidate for the position.
Ahead of the AFCON tournament though, Ghana Coach Avram Grant has called up four goalkeepers with only three expected to make the final squad for the tournament.
Stephen Adams joins Fatau Dauda, Razak Braimah and Ernest Sowah as they battle for the three slots for the AFCON competition in Equatorial Guinea, but the confident Aduana Stars keeper believes any one of them has a chance of going to the tournament.
“So far as the new coach is concerned, it is a new page for everyone in the team and we are all fighting for a chance to go to the 2015 AFCON.”
“In our department one goalkeeper is going to be left out and none of us is safe so we are training hard to win some favor from the coaches” Adams mentioned in an interview with sportscrusader.com.
“All we want to do is to serve our nation and the coaches will always pick the best. The competition so far has been very good and healthy and I believe that as the camping continues it will get much better”.
