Tevez rejects $25m deal to Gyan’s Shanghai SIPG

Boca Juniors striker and former Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus forward Carlos Tevez has rejected a big money move to partner Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan at Shanghai SIPG.

The Argentina international plans to retire in his home country and subsequently turned down a transfer move that would have paid him an annual salary of $25 million.

The $480 000-a- week deal would have taken the former West Ham United striker above the pay check of Shanghai SIPG star Asamaoah Gyan who is currently taking in the region of $300 000-a-week.

The transfer offer from Chinese club Shanghai SIPG is an upgrade of an initial $20 million bid for the Argentinian.

Chinese clubs in a bid to develop football in the country are luring stars from across the globe.

Former Chelsea player Ramires, ex Arsenal forward Gervinho and Brazil international Alex Teixeira have all joined the Chinese Super League ahead of the upcoming season.

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and former Chelsea forward Demba Ba are all playing in China.
