Ghanaian boxer, Emmanuel Tagoe, will not be available for his nemesis Gorge Ashie until next year June.
Box Office Boxing Promotions and syndicate, together with the Baby Jet Boxing Promotion, were in line to stage a rematch for the two boxers this year.
But that promotion hit a snag after Baby Jet Boxing Promotions indicated that their product, Emmanuel Tagoe cannot fight without the appearance of his manager who also doubles as captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan.
Gyan, will not be available until the end of the United Arab Emirates season next year June, and was the reason the rematch couldn’t come on.
Chief Executive Officer of Box Office Boxing Promotions and syndicate, Alex Ntiamoah, admitted that Emmanuel Tagoe cannot fight unless his boss, Asamoah Gyan is available since the latter enjoys watching his boxer.
“Emmanuel Tagoe won’t fight this year because I’m told that Asamoah Gyan will not be available until the end of the UAE season, and that means that he will be available from May to June next year.”
“We wanted to arrange the rematch and make sure the two boxers slug it out because the first bout was just an eye sore. Ashie thought he won and that is why we want to put up another fight.”
“But it can only happen if Asamoah Gyan is available in the country.”
