Strand worried about Medeama’s poor domestic form

Medeama coach Tom Strand has admitted that his team’s performance in the Ghana Premier League has been unimpressive since the start of the campaign.

The Tarkwa-based club have been splendid in the Caf Confederation Cup following their qualification into the play-offs of the competition and billed to lock horns with South African side Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, they have won two league games, draw one and suffered five defeats in eight games of the local top-flight. They have also been booted out of the FA Cup in the round of 64.

“It has been a source of worry. We have not played well as we’re known for but this is football,” Strand was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccernet.

“I am concerned about our form in the Ghana Premier League. But I’m confident things will improve. It was very disappointing to lose by such a margin [3-0 against Aduana Stars on Sunday] but sometimes it happens like that. We have to put that defeat behind us and move on,” he added.

Medeama will host Inter Allies in an outstanding matchday eight on Wednesday before engaging league leaders Wa All Stars on Sunday
