Strand: Ghana Premier League needs more television stations

Medeama SC coach Tom Strand believes involving many television stations to telecast the Ghana Premier League will help in improving the standard and bring on board many sponsorships.

The 34-year-old, after experiencing low patronage in the league following his two-year stay in Ghana, took to Facebook to outline his solutions ahead of the new season.

“To improve the standard of Ghana Premier League, we need more television stations that can show us the league matches,” Strand insisted.

“More cameras to show all perspective of the games as well as commentary and analysis will help. This I think will bring sponsors and a big development for the league,” he added.

Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed that musicians will be performing live at league centres during games in the new campaign.

Strand guided Medeama to finish 11th on the log last season with 41 points. He was adjudged the best coach in 2014-15 FA Cup after Medeama defeated Asante Kotoko in the final.
