Silva ruled out of Manchester City’s trip to Crystal Palace

David Silva has been ruled out of Manchester City’s clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday due to an ankle injury.

The 29-year-old has started the season in fine form for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, scoring one goal and assisting four others in his opening four Premier League matches.

“Silva is out as I think it would be a risk for him to take another knock on his ankle,” Pellegrini said on Friday.

“I hope he will be OK for Juventus [on Tuesday].”

The City manager also confirmed that Bacary Sagna is available for his side’s trip to Selhurst Park despite suffering a minor ankle problem in France’s 2-1 win over Serbia on Monday.

Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and Fabian Delph are also unavailable for the match against Alan Pardew’s side.
