Asamoah Gyan and Thomas Teye Partey will match their wits when Shanghai SIPG host Atletico Madrid in the Wanda International Football Tournament friendly match on August 4 as part of the Spanish club’s pre-season tour of Asia.
The Wanda Group, which owns 20 percent of Atletico Madrid, is helping organize the Spanish club’s visit to China.
Gyan joined SIPG last month in £227,000-a-week contract to become one of world’s top earning players.
He has quickly announced his presence in the Chinese Super League after registering two goals in three games to send SIPG to the top of the league.
The friendly match is a good test for Thomas Teye Partey who is eager to stake his claim at Atletico Madrid, and it is also a chance for him to reinforce his worth to Diego Simeone who has new methods and new ideas for next season.
The 22-year-old is gelling well at Atletico Madrid and look set to hold down a place in their squad as he is excelling on pre-season, or must face another spell on loan with another club in Spain.
He has featured prominently in the club’s pre-season campaign, notably against J League side Sagan Tosu last Saturday.
Teye Partey has had loan spell at Almeria – where he scored four goals last season.
Atletico’s match against SIPG at the Shanghai Stadium will kick off at 7:00pm.
