Ebusua Dwarfs have sacked manager J.E Sarpong after a disappointing start to the season.
The 61-year-old, who guided the club to win promotion last season, ends his stint with a 3-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
Dwarfs are now languishing at the bottom of a 16-club log, having registered just nine points from eleven games.
A club statement from the Cape Coast-based side read: “We observed that the club has been performing poorly since the beginning of the 2015/2016 football season.
“In fact, apart from the fact that we were eliminated at the final stages in the FA Cup competition, we have also gained only nine points from a maximum of 33 points in the on-going 2015/2016 Premier League. The club is therefore threatened with relegation.
“In order to reverse the trend, the Board and Management have decided to conduct an assessment of the situation to identify the problems militating against the desired performance of the club.
“In view of this, I have been directed by the Board Chairman, who doubles as the president of the club and the Chief Executive Officer, to relieve you of your post as head coach with immediate effect.
“Management has decided to pay you three (3) months salary as compensation to that effect. Arrangement are being made to honour this compensation payment in due course,” the statement added.
