Rwanda FA prez is optimistic of Amavubi’s win over Ghana

The President of the Rwanda Football Association, Vincent Nzamwita says he is highly optimistic that his side will beat the Black Stars of Ghana.

Rwanda will host Ghana on Saturday in Kigali in 2017 Afcon qualifier and the two teams will be rekindling their old rivalry.

Jonny Mckinstry side last met Ghana in 2003 which they won 1-0 in Kigali and eventually qualified them to their first Afcon competition in 2004 held in Tunisia.

Both sides ahead of the game engaged in separate warm up friendly games, Rwanda beat Ethiopia 3-1 while Ghana beat Congo Brazzaville 3-2 and will the Saturday’s game will be a repeat or revenge?

Rwanda in their opening 2017 Afcon qualifying game won 1-0 in away against Mozambique while Ghana thrashed Mauritius 7-1 in Accra but the West Africa giants top the Group with Superior goal difference.

And ahead of the Saturdays’ game, Rwanda FA president, Vincent Nzamwita says he is highly optimistic that his side will beat the four time Africa champions [Ghana].

‘’We’re preparing our team as we do for every game. We usually prepare as every team wants to win a game, especially when you play against a friend or a brother, (Kwesi) Nyantakyi is my brother.

“It should be a good game. So we are preparing as much as we can,’’ Nzamwita said.

He added: ‘’I can’t say we will demolish Ghana. It’s a football game. We went to Mozambique to secure a 1-0 win. We are preparing to have a good game. We are preparing for a win. We need to win this game”.

Nzamwita revealed his side doesn’t depend on financial motivation before winning games.

‘’If you want to talk about motivation, I think that every team has its way of motivating players. We don’t put in much money. We make the players know that they are playing for their country. Rwandese love their country, so I think it’s the best motivation we can make on our side.”

The kick off time for the Saturdays’ clash is 1:30 GMT.
