Ronaldo sets NEW goals target… I want 500 more!

Cristiano Ronaldo says he hopes to score another 500 goals before he retires from football.

The Real Madrid star grabbed his 500th career goal back in September in the 2-0 Champions League win over Malmo and has already scored 25 goals in all competitions this season.

The 30-year-old has also become Real Madrid’s record goalscorer this season overtaking Alfredo Di Stefano and Raul, but says he is hungry for more goals.

“I hope I’ll score another 500 goals but it’s tough,” he told Madrid team-mate Marcelo as part of the coverage of the 2015 Ballon d’Or.

Ronaldo paid tribute to Marcelo and his other team-mates at Madrid as he discussed his record at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“All the records are always an extra, the icing on the cake. It’s always good to be at the top of the records.

“When arrived at Real Madrid I never dreamed of breaking Di Stefano’s records, or Raul’s – all those legends you know?

“But I got there during my seventh season here. Obviously it was all with the help of my team-mates – nobody plays alone.”
