The recently retired Rivaldo, one of the best Brazilian talents to ever put on a Barcelona jersey, claimed his countryman Neymar is on track to becoming the worlds best player should he continue his development.
Ballon d’Or winner in 1999, Rivaldo envisioned success for the 24-year-old forward in the near future.
“He [Neymar] is a great player who is still writing his own history, and hell be the best player in the world at some point.”
The 2002 World Cup winner also took his chance to praise the Blaugranas trajectory this decade.
“[Barcelona] have played at a superb level for the last six seasons and they are pleasing their fans.
“They play better each season that goes by.
“Even if they did not manage to win the Champions League last year, it was a magnificent campaign.”
Rivaldo won two Primera Division titles when Louis Van Gaal coached the Catalan club in between 1997 and 1999.
