Bayern Munich may have claimed three consecutive Bundesliga titles under Pep Guardiola, but it was not all swings and roundabouts for Franck Ribery.
Now under the instruction of Carlo Ancelotti, the winger’s kind words about his new boss may reflect badly upon the new Manchester City coach, who perhaps failed to get the best out of the Frenchman.
“[Ancelotti] knows how to treat players,” Ribery told Kicker, “he is a gift for Bayern and once more we feel confident.
“He offers respect, trust, and closeness. I do not give 100 percent, but 150 percent for a coach like Ancelotti, I will run the length of the pitch.”
While Guardiola failed to bring the Champions League trophy to Bavaria, he did enjoy success, although Ribery was careful to exclude him when mentioning the right men for the club.
“I’m glad [Ancelotti] is here because he’s the right person for us,” the Bayern attacker noted, “we need people like him, [Jupp] Heynckes, or [Otmar] Hitzfeld.”
