The attacker will be out of action until the new year after suffering a torn ligament in his side’s game against Paderborn on Saturday
Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Marco Reus will be out of action for the remainder of 2014 with a ligament injury.
Reus was forced off with an ankle problem following a strong challenge from Marvin Bakalorz after scoring his side’s second goal in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Paderborn.
The club have revealed that the Germany international will be out of action until the beginning of 2015.
“Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus suffered a torn ligament in his right ankle in Saturday’s Bundesliga game at SC Paderborn,” a statement read.
“The injury will rule the 25-year-old Germany international out for the rest of the year. Reus could return to training at the start of 2015 when BVB begin their preparations for the second half of the season.”
Hans-Joachim Watzke, the club’s CEO, wished the former Borussia Monchengladbach star “a speedy recovery”, pondering “How much bad luck can you have?”
