Reports: Opoku Nti to continue as Kotoko General Manager

Reports reaching Sports5050 indicate that Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has informed Opoku Nti to continue as the General Manger of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The former Kotoko and Black Stars player was invited to the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday and after a discussion between him and the powers that be, he was told to bring a budget for recruitment and on salaries for the 2015-16 season and was assured that all the necessary assistance he requires would be given him to make his management.

This news is contrary to recent reports that indicated that Opoku Nti had been informed by Otumfuo Osei Tutu to prepare his handing over notes to pave way for Samuel Osei Kuffour as the Executive Chairman of the club.

Opoku Nti even confirmed his exit by saying in an interview that bad politics in Kotoko was the cause of his sack.

On the other hand the board of directors of the Porcupine Warriors has been informed to submit its report within 2 weeks

Meanwhile, Samuel Osei Kuffour, who was the leading candidate for the Executive chairman of Kotoko was also spotted at Manhyia, with some renowned former football administrators like Sam Jordan to render an unqualified apology to the Asantehene for failing to keep a conversation between them.

Kuffour was invited to the Manhyia palace last two weeks and was informed to form his own to team to takeover Kotoko.

However, Kuffour confirmed the conversation on T.V that he will be the president of Kotoko, an action which is seen as a sign of disrespect to the Asantehene, because protocols at Manhyia requires the former or his outfit breaks such news first before any other person.

This is believed to be the reason why the appointment of Kuffour has been delayed and this could jeopardise his quest to be the president of the club.
