Report: UEFA Champions League Matchday 2 – (Tuesday, 29 Sep 2015)

We witnessed the fall of two English giants in the Matchday two of the UEFA Champions League.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal were shocked as they were humiliated by their opponents in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League.

The reigning Premier League champions went a goal down to an Andre Andre strike before Willian equaliser with a corker, but Maicon headed home the winner in the second half as FC Porto defeated Chelsea 2-1 at Estádio Do Dragão.

Arsenal were shcoked at home when as the five-goal thriller went in favour of Olympiacos as the thrashed the Gunners 3-2.

Theo Walcott and Sanchez both scored for Arsenal but Substitute Alfred Finnbogason was the match-winner for Olympiakos as his strike condemned Arsenal to a 3-2 defeat at the Emirates Stadium in the Champions League on Tuesday.

In Russia Zenit celebrated a 2-1 win over Gent thanks to an influential display from their forward Hulk, who laid on both goals for his side on Tuesday.

Elsewheer, Olympique Lyon were humbled at home when a first half strike from Sofiane Feghouli was enough to give Valencia their first win of the Champions League campaign.

Dynamo Kiev also picked up their first win of the Champions League group stages with goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Junior Moraes secured Dynamo Kiev a comfortable 2-0 win at Maccabi Tel-Aviv as the Ukrainian club maintained their strong start in Group G.

In Germany, the Bavarians recorded back to back victories in Europe after goals from Douglas Costa, Mario Gotze and another hat-trick from Robert Lewandowski sealed a comfortable win as Bayern Munich made a mockery of Dinamo Zagreb’s 45-match unbeaten run with a 5-0 Champions League rout at the Allianz Arena.

The match between BATE Borisov and AS Roma ended in a five-goal thriller as the home side shocked the Italians 3-2.

Filip Mladenovic was the unlikely hero for the hosts in Borisov, as his two goals helped BATE record a shock victory over Roma in Group E of the Champions League.

The heat was up at Camp Nou with Luis Enrique’s side looked to be heading for a shock defeat at Camp Nou after Kyriakos Papadopoulos opened the scoring but were rescued by two goals in the last 10 minutes

Luis Suarez completed a dramatic late comeback for Barcelona as they beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday.
