Report: Liverpool’s Clyne Offer Accepted

Liverpool are on the verge of completing a deal for England right-back Nathaniel Clyne after agreeing a fee with Southampton.

According to the Times‘ Tony Barrett, the Reds have had a £12.5 million bid for the coveted 24-year-old defender accepted by the south coast club:

Saints previously rejected an initial £10 million approach from the Anfield outfit, but with Clyne entering the final year of his contract at St Mary’s, his club had little choice but to accept the improved offer, pertalkSPORT.

The England international still has to agree personal terms and pass a medical, but Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has seemingly got his man—quite a coup, considering Manchester United were also interested in the young star, per Jack Wilson in the Daily Star.
