The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) presented Real Madrid with the World’s Best Club of 2014 award.
Before the day’s training session, team captain Sergio Ramos collected the trophy from Robert Ley, vice president of the IFFHS, and Jassem Al Sayed, secretary general and member of the organisation’s Executive Committee.
This accolade recognises Real Madrid’s fantastic 2014, a year in which the club won the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the European Super Cup and the Copa del Rey.
Thanks to these four titles, the Whites smashed the record previously set in the club world ranking, which was established in 1991, with 381 points. Bayern Munich came second (276 points); Atlético de Madrid were third (267); and Barcelona fourth (251).
