Kuban Krasnodar midfielder Rabiu Mohammed is the latest Black Star to lament the injury situation of Juventus and Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.
Asamoah, 27, has played just three Serie A games for Juventus this season due to recurrent injuries, having undergone an operation to correct a persistent knee problem in December 2014.
“Kwadwo Asamoah’s injury situation is very disturbing,” Rabiu told Angel FM.
“He’s one of the greatest players I’ve played with – since our time at Liberty Professionals back in Ghana. His injury is always a big worry to us.
“I used to communicate with him but whenever we’re chatting, I get saddened and devastated because of the injuries that he normally faces. I’ve been facing some problems and I know how it feels to be injured.”
Rabiu and Asamoah were both part of Ghana’s contingent at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa as well as the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
“He’s a very nice and decent person in life,” Rabiu added.
“His play and lifestyle on and off the pitch are very good as well. His exceptional talent is magnificent and awesome.”
Asamoah’s injury predicaments prevented him from joining Ghana’s squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, and he’s as yet to play for the Blacks Stars since 2014.
Although currently back to training, Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has revealed that the playmaker would not be rushed back into action to avoid complications.
