Protest by Sammin FC fails

The Disciplinary Committee has ruled that a protest by Sammin FC against Ajax FC has failed.

Sammin petitioned the DC to award them three points and three goals for their 1st Round Elite Cup match against Ajax which was played at the Gyandu Park on December 14 in “accordance to Article 34(e)” after claiming that the respondent failed to; (i) attend the pre-match technical meeting for their 1st Round Elite Clubs Cup match
(ii) produce the licences and commitment letters of their players for inspection.

However, the Disciplinary Committee ruled that:

1. That for failing to pay the required protest fees per the provisions on page 7 of the Special Rules for the Elite Clubs Cup and Article 37(5) of the GFA General Regulations, the protest of Sammin FC shall fail and the match results shall stand.

2. That for failing to produce the licences of their players for inspection, Ajax FC is hereby fined an amount of One Hundred and Twenty-Five Ghana Cedis (GHc125) per Article 16(5)(a) of the General Regulations to be paid to the GFA within fourteen (14) days upon receipt of this Decision.

3. That for failing to attend the pre-match technical meeting, Ajax FC is hereby further fined an amount of One Hundred and Twenty-Five Ghana Cedis (GHc125) per Article 23(3)(b) of the General Regulations also to be paid to the GFA within fourteen (14) days upon receipt of this Decision.

4. That there shall be no order as to cost.

5. That any party which is dissatisfied with this Decision has within 24hrs of being notified of this Decision to appeal to the Appeals Committee (see page 7 of Special Rules).
