Jordan Ayew’s Aston Villa have a single win in their 13 English Premier League games. The Villa Park outfit who sacked manager Tim Sherwood and appointed Remi Garde to revive their season are rock bottom on the Premier League log with 5 points out of a possible 39.
The damning state of the relegation battling club has seen a priest offer up a prayer for Aston Villa.
At a ceremony to mark the rededication of the grave of George Ramsay, a successful former secretary of Villa, Reverend Dr Bob Stephen offered a prayer Jordan Ayew’s team who were drubbed by four goals without reply in their last game against Everton.
Reverend Dr Bob Stephen prayed:
“Here we are at George Ramsay’s grave. It’s been years since the club that he was the secretary of has done any good at all.
“So we’re praying for him but we’re also praying for the club that as he will be resurrected one day the club will be resurrected sooner.”
Jordan Ayew’s start to the English Premier League has been a challenging one as his club has had a troubled season so far. The Ghana international joined Aston Villa from French Ligue 1 club FC Lorient.
