Ashanti Gold chief executive officer Kudjo Fianoo says he is prepared to vacate his position if it becomes necessary.
The club’s supporters, through their parent body, National Co-coordinating Council, have petitioned the board of directors to reduce Fianoo’s salary by 50 per cent and sack head coach Bashir Hayford as well as communication director Kofi Yawson following their dismal campaign as defending champions.
“Things are not going on well for the club at all but we need to be focused and bring back the ship to life. There are protests by the fans but you know that we have structures and one cannot wake up and do what he/she pleases,” Fianoo told Nhyira FM.
“I have received a letter from the supporters requesting for my resignation. I will meet the board of directors of the club and if they agree that my resignation will resurrect the club from it troubles, I don’t have a problem and will honorably do it but for now, I need to manage issues.
“I was expecting the entire Ashanti Gold fraternity to come together and stop the blame games. I can’t hide my feelings, all these issues have been around for a long time but winning the league last season overshadowed it and it has started again because of our poor start to the season,” he added.
Ashanti Gold have picked only seven points from seven games and are 12th on a 16-team log.
