Polokwane City have joined the race for SuperSport United and University of Pretoria target, the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lindokuhle Mbatha.
The 30-year-old winger has found game time hard to come by in the star-studded Brazilians squad in this 2015/16 campaign.
Goal has learnt from a source very close to the player that he is eyeing a move away from the Chloorkop-based outfit during the January Transfer Window period.
“Look, the player is obviously eager to play again. He hasn’t been playing competitively and he would be happy to leave the club whether on loan or permanently in January,” the source told Goal.
“Yes, there’s a lot of interest in him because he is a quality player. But it is not only SuperSport and AmaTuks, because Polokwane are also keen,” the source continued.
“But Sundowns will have the final say because Lindo is still contracted to them at the end of the day,” the source concluded.
Mbatha struggled a little bit with an injury at the beginning of this season. However, he has since recovered from the injury and he’s training with his Sundowns team-mates.
The former Platinum Stars star, who joined the Brazilians at the end of the 2013/14 season, hasn’t played a single competitive game for his current employers this season.
