Pogba backs Ronaldo for Ballon d’Or ahead of Messi

hile linked with a move to Real Madrid, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has backed Cristiano Ronaldo to win the Ballon d’Or following victories in the Champions League Euro 2016 finals.

Despite coming off injured in the Paris final, Ronaldo is widely tipped to pick up his fourth individual crown at the expense of rival Lionel Messi.

Though he stopped short of deciding who was better overall, Pogba admitted the Real Madrid man should win.

“I’d give the Ballon d’Or to Ronaldo, he won the Champions League and the European Chamionship,” he told reporters at the ESPYS Awards.

“I like both [Ronaldo and Messi], but Antoine Griezmann has also had a wonderful year.”

With his future hot topic this summer, Pogba refused to commit when asked which he would choose if he had to take a Juventus, Manchester United or Real Madrid shirt home.

“I’ll take three,” he said cheekily.
