Fred Pappoe, a board member of Accra Great Olympics and former vice president of the Ghana FA, has assuaged the fears of fans as the relegation battle intensifies.
The Wonder Club have been in the relegation zone for many weeks after an inconsistent campaign.
They managed to sweep all three points in their week 22 encounter against Bechem United after recording a 2-1 win.
Yaw Acheampong’s side currently lie 15th on the 16-team log with eight matches left to wrap up the 2014/2015 season.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Pappoe sounded optimistic about the club’s chances despite a list of tough matches ahead.
“We are just facing challenges, like any other club in the league, but we can survive. We are doing a lot of things in the Premiership. We are motivating the players, working on the technical side as well and I believe we will come out of it,” the Ghana FA ex-co member said.
“We have victory and we are working towards that and with the quality of players in the team, the victory over Bechem will be the beginning of our way out of the relegation zone,” he added.
Olympics will take on BA United in a week 23 away encounter on Wednesday, and follow up with a date with Medeama Sc at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
