Ghana defender, Daniel Opare has completed a loan switch from Portuguese champions, Porto to Turkey top flight hotshots, Besiktas JK following a successful medicals.
“Beşiktaş JK football team added Ghanaian international right back Daniel Opare on loan from Portuguese club FC Porto today,” a short statement below a photograph of the player was displayed on Besiktas’ official website.
Opare only joined Porto last summer from Standard Liege of Belgium but is still chasing his first game for the former European champions.
In fact, the 24 year old former Real Madrid recruit only featured in two reserve games for Porto B totalling a play time of 114 minutes in all of his time in Portugal.
It’s a situation that has also affected his national team position, long dropped from the Black Stars even before the current Africa Cup of Nations after playing for the Black Stars as recently as at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Now he has earned the switch, albeit on loan to earn some playing time and possibly even attract a permanent deal from Besiktas or gain the confidence of Porto team selectors for next season.
