Olympics thrash Bofoakwa to win knockout

On Sunday, 4th December, the ‘Wonder Club’, Accra Great Olympics walloped the ‘Tano Boys’, by three goals to nothing in the grand finale of the national knockout competition at the Accra Sports Stadium.

It looked certain that the Cup was for Olympics when they eliminated their city rivals Hearts of Oak from the competition in the semi finals.

The 3-0 thrashing is a true lesson never to be forgotten by Bofoakwa.

Abdul Aziz scored the 1st goal for Olympics in the 9th minute through a header from a seemingly offside position, which forced Bofoakwa players to protest but their plea was rejected by the referee.

Karimu Alhassan doubled the score line 2-0 on the stroke of half time, before young and promising Sam Kobeah, who came on as a substitute scored the third goal of the match from a long freekick to seal the victory, when the match was almost ended.

In total Olympics have three FA Cup titles, winning the first one in 1975 and they last won the title in 1996.
