Ghana defender Harrison Afful marked his MLS debut for Columbus Crew in their 2-2 draw with Kwadwo Poku’s New York City on Wednesday night.
Afful was handed a start by is manager and lasted 60 minutes in his maiden appearance for the Club.
Columbus Crew took the lead on 24 minutes when former Norwich City and Middlesbrough forward Kei Kamara converted Ethan Finley’s pass.
Kwadwo Poku levelled the score on 57 minutes, linking up with former Barcelona star David Villa before scoring at the back post.
The Ghanaian scored his second to give New York the advantage on 66 minutes following a corner from new recruit Andrea Pirlo.
It became Poku’s first MLS brace but his second of the season after scoring two goals in a previous US Open Cup fourth round tie
The match was halted for 75 minutes on Wednesday night due to lightning strikes.
