Kwesi Nyantakyi is of the opinion that the world football governing body should be commended for suspending Sepp Blatter, the president of the organisation instead of labeling it as a corrupt institution.
Sepp Blatter, Jerome Valcke, the General secretary of FIFA and Michel Platini, the president of UEFA were slapped with 90 days suspension by the Ethics committee of FIFA over charges of corruption.
This has raised questions about the integrity of one of the most respected institutions in the world, but Kwesi Nyantakyi believes that instead of crucifying FIFA, it should be praised for taking a bold step to bring its boss into book through suspension.
“FIFA must be commended that it has sanctioned its senior most official. It is unprecedented for any organisation the world over to suspend its CEO, President, Chairman, etc, following charges of corruption when he hasn’t been found guilty yet,” he told Citi FM.
