‘Not compromising a match cost me elections’ – Kudjoe Fianoo

Ashanti Gold Chief Executive Officer, Kudjoe Fianoo has revealed that he lost the executive committee election because he decided not to compromise a league game.

The experienced administrator led the Obuasi based club to end their 19 years league title drought after winning the Ghana premier league in the just ended season.

“Prior to the election a colleague candidate told me that I will lose the election and I asked him why, he told me that some people said I decided not to comprise a league game in the just ended season and they will make sure that I lose the election.

“I don’t want to believe that but if it is true then is very sad and I’m not worried at all because if the people in Obuasi hailed me for winning the league and FIFA President Sepp Blatter congratulated Ashgold for winning the league then I’m contend with that,” Fianoo told Happy FM.

Mr. Fianoo lost his position as a an executive committee member of the Ghana Football Association in Tuesday’s elections.

But after the election the results came as a surprise to many people after he lost out on the executive committee. The six other candidates who got the nod to serve on the Executive Committee on the ticket of the premier league teams are Opoku Nti of Kotoko, Hearts of Oak’s Frank Nelson, Hasaacas’ Nana Benyin Eyison, Inter Allies’ Delali Senaye, George Afriyie of Liberty Professionals and Aduana Stars’ Albert Commey.

Fianoo after falling through has stated that he wasn’t surprised because he was told by one of the delegates of the conspiracy to vote against him and has therefore closed his doors to any future appointment onto any committee of the Ghana FA.

Kudjo Fianoo, however added that he will not take up any FA’s committee position when he is called upon.
