No more point deduction for pre-match absence

The GFA Congress has moved to amend its own rule which previously stated that clubs whose officials fail to turn up for the mandatory pre-match technical meeting will result in the club forfeiting the points of that particular game.
The pre-match technical meeting between officials of the two opposing teams and referees and match commissioners is the forum where jersey colours are discussed to avoid any clash of colours.
In the past, if your club fails to turn up for the pre-match technical meeting, it automatically forfeits the points as stake even before the game starts but the GFA in its own wisdom says that is not proper.
At the GFA ordinary congress in Prampram last Tuesday, congress voted to have heavy monetary fines imposed on clubs whose officials fail to turn up instead of the point deduction.
According to Executive Committee Member of the GFA and Chairman of the Black Stars management committee, George Afreyie, this new amendment will put an end to the excessive protests filed by clubs in an attempt to seek points from the boardroom instead of the football pitch.
