FC Copenhagen have reportedly stalls Daniel Amartey’s move to Olympique Marseille at the final hurdle as both clubs failed to arrive on a fee for the Ghana international.
Multiple news outlet reported on Monday that the 21-year-old has sealed a five-year deal with the former French Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions’ League winners for an undisclosed fee.
The report further suggested that Amartey was immediately loaned back to Copenhagen for a year.
However, Copenhagen Chief Executive Officer, Anders Hørsholt, has dismissed those reports by saying: “We have received many inquiries and also several negotiations about Amartey, but none of them have lived up to the expectations of FC Copenhagen or the player’s demands.
“Therefore he [Amartey] is still our player with a contract that ties him down for four more years. We shall see what the future brings.”
