We Must Not Be Participants But Contenders – Rev. Osei kofi

Ex-Black Stars winger and now television and radio analyst, Reverend Osei Kofi has insisted that even though the Football Association (FA) claimed that newly appointed coached, Avram Grant, will be not be tasked to win the 2015 Afcon, Ghana must still be contenders and not participants.

Reverend Osei Kofi said “it will not only be dangerous for Ghana to be in a particular group, but also dangerous for any country to be in the same group with Ghana.

“It is not only dangerous for Ghana but every country that will be in the same group with Ghana. I don’t think that Ghana is going into the tournament only to add up to the numbers. We are going for the trophy that is why we qualified”. Rev. Osei Kofi said.

“We must also know that none of the qualified countries can be taken for granted. Since we have qualified we must be ready for every country. So if we are going for the trophy, there is no need to avoid any country. Who must play those countries we are avoiding?. Reverend Kofi questioned.

The ex-Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak winger expressed admiration in his concluding comments for assistant Black stars coach Maxwell Konadu’s comment before enplaning for Equitorial Guinea that the team is prepared for any group at the tournament.
