Mozambique Coach Warns Players Ahead Of Ghana Clash

Ahead of their AFCON 2017 Double header with Ghana, Head Coach of the Mozambique Senior National team, Abel Xavier has warned his players to be extremely competitive to beat the 4-time African Champions.

Ghana will play host to Mozambique on Thursday March 24 at the Accra Sports Stadium before travelling to Maputo three days later.

Speaking to the media in the build up to the first leg of the tie, Abel Xavier said, “We have to play the two games at a very high level. We will be playing against Ghana, one of the best African teams, and we need to be effective in both defense and attack. It is a game in which there is no room for error,”

The Portuguese coach also revealed that he has been working hard on the tactics he wants his players to execute against Ghana.

“Training time is short, so you have to pass on a bit of everything. All players will be valued. We value them for the present and for the future,” he said.

Mozambique are set to leave Maputo on Monday 21st March for the Ghanaian capital for the ‘all or nothing’ game.

Mozambique are currently bottom of Group H with no points after losing 1-0 to both Rwanda and Mauritius.
