Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, has confirmed to sportscrusader.com that his outfit has ordered the Ghana Football Association to amend their 2015 African Cup of Nations budget due to some anomalies.
The Ghana Football Association presented their budget to the sports ministry ahead of their participation in the 30th edition of the continental showpiece in Equatorial Guinea for vetting and approval but was ordered to make some changes before submitting the final amount.
Information gathered by sportscrusader.com has it that the Sports Ministry were “not happy” with the total amount and some discrepancies in the budget and are hoping the FA adjusts it reasonably to make room for payment.
“Well, the ministry raised certain issues and they didn’t provide it in the budget, so we told them to go back and provide that, Vincent Oppong Asamoah told sportscrusader.com.
“Is our wish that they will come back with the final budget because we don’t have enough time for the Afcon, we are hoping they can even bring it today.”
“Looking at the budget, it’s not on the higher side, it’s around the normal range for the competitions that we have participated in.”
