Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffu has confirmed penning a one-year extension to his contract with league and cup double holders Asante Kotoko.
He told Kumasi-based Metro FM of his happiness in extending the contract, adding that should a club come for him, Asante Kotoko would not lose out.
“I’m happy to extend my contract with the club. At least, Kotoko will not lose out completely should the opportunity come again for me to move for a club outside any time soon.”
Akuffu also told Metro FM that he has had good times with the fans since joining Asante Kotoko almost five years ago; one of the reasons that informed his decision to sign the new deal.
“I have been here for about five years now and it has been a happy run all along with the fans.”
Akuffu has won three Premier League titles and last term’s FA Cup with Asante Kotoko.
