Medeama chief happy with team’s outing in Caf Confed

Medeama president Moses Armah has commended his team following their narrow 1-0 loss to Libyan side Al Ittihad Tripoli in away fixture of the Caf Confederation Cup first leg on Sunday.

The hosts were awarded a penalty described by many as controversial to deny the Ghanaian representatives from sharing the spoils.

“We played well today and the boys deserve commendation,” Armah said.

“Everybody who saw the game will attest to the fact that we didn’t deserve to lose. The boys showed character and zeal and we look forward to the return encounter.

“We cannot underestimate them in the return leg. They are a good side and we must be wary. But I am confident we can turn things around and qualify to the next stage of the competition,” he added.

The return leg will hold at the Esspoing stadium in Sekondi on March 20.
