Medeama blew away a goal lead to lose to 2-1 to Ashgold

Ashgold came from a goal down to beat Medeama sc by two goals to one at the Len Clay Sports Stadium, Obuasi on match day 27 of the First Capital Plus Premier league.

The Miners overcame Kwesi Donsu’s early scare and bounced back to snatch victory out of the hands of the Tarkwa based side.

Kwesi Donsu shot Medeama into the lead in the 7 minute, but Didier Kore restored parity for the Miners in the 37 minute. The goal was followed by minor confusion in the stands, because some Medeama officials thought the goal was scored from an offside position, but the situation was calmed down.

Ashanti gold who were burnt on carrying the day earned the match winner in the second half after Yakubu Mohammed was brought down by a Medeama defender and referee Awal Mohammed whistled for a penalty in favour of the home team. Didier Kore sent Muntari Tagoe to the wrong direction to register a brace, which secured Ashgold a 2-1 victory.

The Miners will visit Berekum Chelsea at the Coronation, whereas Medeama  will host Hearts of Oak at the T an A Park.
