Manny Pacquiao says Floyd Mayweather Jr must sign his contract and finalise a fight between the pair before the end of this month if it is to go ahead.
Pacquiao and Mayweather have long been linked with a potential bout but have, as yet, failed to come to an agreement on terms.
The Filipino says details have been confirmed at his end, but the lack of confirmation from Mayweather is what is apparently holding back the approval of what would be one of the sport’s most high-profile fights.
Television coverage is reportedly one of the main issues yet to be resolved, but Pacquiao urged the unbeaten WBA, WBC and The Ring welterweight title holder to sign his contract this month.
“My promoter and I, we’ve already agreed to the terms and conditions of whatever he wants. We’re just waiting on the signed contract from him,” Pacquiao told the LA Times.
“That’s the hard part – if they will fight or not. We have to know soon because if they will not fight, we can move on and choose another opponent.
“We have a deadline… this month. The fans deserve this fight. No more will people bother me [saying] ‘Can this fight happen?’
“It’s time to make it happen. We’re waiting on a signed contract from him.”
